All About My Cut Flower Garden

by Eleni
(Columbia, SC)

While I love having a nice garden with beautiful flowers in it, I like having beautiful fresh flowers in my home even more. You just can't beat going outside and selecting the perfect flowers for a bouquet or to bring into your home. It makes me feel like I own my very own flower shop! Here is a little bit of information about how I have my flower garden set up.

I used to just cut flowers from anywhere in my garden when I wanted to make a bouquet, but this left my garden looking both unattractive and disheveled. Having fresh flowers to choose from was important to me, but I didn't want to do it at the cost of the rest of my garden if I could help it. With a little bit of research, I figured out how to have a nice cut flower garden.

My cut flower garden is in the back of my yard, and isn't on display like most of the rest of my garden is. It has a very simple, rectangular layout rather than looking more landscaped than the rest of my garden does. When I'm buying new plants for my garden, I make sure I have a few plants to grow in my cut flower garden. I care for it the same way I do the rest of my garden.

When my cut flower garden is in full bloom, it is quite beautiful for a few days. That doesn't mean I'm not anxiously awaiting my chance to cut flowers from it, though! It's great being able to pick out all the flowers I need without worrying about the appearance of the rest of my yard. I'd recommend a cut flower garden to anyone.
