Bulbs for Spring Flowers

I love growing flowers from bulbs. I always plant the bulbs in the early fall. I think that the flowers will do better if they've been through some slightly cold weather. If you plant in the fall, in the spring you will have amazing blooms!

My absolute favorite bulbs are tulips. In my opinion, they are the most beautiful flower that one can easily grow. They bloom early in the spring, and they are so colorful. I love to plant yellow and purple tulips, along with the orange and white ones, and then spice them up with black tulips. The black tulips are not really black, they are a dark red-purple color. I think that they are gorgeous when mixed in with the bright colors. It makes the flowers look more dimensional.

When planting my bulbs, another that I enjoy are daffodils. Everyone knows what a daffodil is, and I believe that everyone can appreciate their color and beauty.

The muscari is another of my favorites. It is a wonderful little purple-blue cluster flower. If you plant the bulbs of tulips and daffodils together, I recommend planting lots of muscari to help break it up.

When planting bulbs of any kind, I always mark out where I'm going to put everything first. It is a lot easier to plan ahead, than to have to go back and fix things. Another good thing about planning ahead is that you can ensure you get your flowers in the exact spot that you want them. You can also determine which color flower you want beside other colors. My personal favorite color combination are the purple muscari next to yellow daffodils. It is just gorgeous!
