The Chicago Flower and Garden Show
Various versions of a Chicago Flower and Garden Show can be tracked back to 1929. The current show has been a popular event for over a decade. Usually held at the Navy Pier in Chicago, Illinois, it was moved to Rosemont Convention Center is 2007, but in 2009 it returned to Navy Pier.
The show, produced by Special Events Management, is quite original. It is featured at the historic Navy Pier which is interesting in itself. The pier is located on Lake Michigan and features tons of family fun events such as tour boats and dining cruises, a museum and workshops for children, an IMAX theater, Crystal Gardens, a mini amusement park, shops and restaurants, along with a festivity hall and meeting rooms. In 2009, the show introduced a Children’s Activity Garden which is inspiring to kids interested in
kids gardening
or just playing with worms.
The show promotes environmental consciousness by featuring recent green industry developments. It is appealing to both urban and suburban gardeners with the awesome variety of gardening seminars and hands-on activities. Around 100 exhibitors display their products at the show making up an enormous marketplace displaying both hardscape and softscape items along with professional landscape designs, flower bouquets, wedding flowers and party decorations. Amateur photographers enjoy the photo competition. If you have never been to Chicago, it may be worth the trip to attend this show. You can get more information about the show at this website:
