Create Wonderful Memories!

I find gardening with my children very important. It enables my kids to see the real value and frugality of nature and also encourages them to make good food choices which will keep their bodies fit and healthy. There is nothing better than to spend a nice sunny spring day in the yard teaching the kids about the different flowers and herbs.

It is not very hard to get kids involved either. You can catch their interest in the gardening world real quick. Children enjoy seeing what they can actually achieve! Those are THEIR flowers which grow so nice and colorful. Those are THEIR herbs which smell so great when you rub them between your fingers. They do not just learn to respect nature but they also learn a certain responsibility by watering the flowers and much more.

I am able to provide my kids with hands-on activities which do not include a television and controller. They see it as fun hobby, and I know that on top of that they actually learn basic science concepts and of course gardening techniques. Taking care of a garden helps them understand the benefits of work in general, which is very important to me.

What kid does not want to play with dirt and actually learn a whole bunch of new stuff without sitting in a classroom?

All in all, I can say that gardening brings the family closer together and creates wonderful childhood memories as well as great memories for me as a parent. I hope that one day my children will teach my grandchildren about gardening, share their wonderful memories and create new memories with their kids.

So take your kids, grand kids, nieces, nephews or neighbor kids to the store. Find some nice flower seeds and herbs you would enjoy in your yard and let the gardening and wonderful bonding time begin!
