Flower Garden Supply Suggestions

Sometimes local flower garden supply businesses just don’t carry exactly what you are looking for if you are an avid gardener. Honestly, it is totally understandable. Many garden supplies are perishable and a local nursery or garden center can only afford to stock best sellers.

What Is a Zealous Gardener to Do?

Exotic Flowers If you can’t find those exotic flowers that you are looking for, or if the choice of perennial plants are limited, or if you don’t want to plant the annual flowers or rose bushes that everyone else in town has, or if finding gardening tools or accessories is a challenge, you are basically faced with three options:

  1. Go shopping out-of-town
  2. Order from an online garden supply company

  3. Get your garden supplies from a reputable garden catalog

Tips for Ordering Online or From a Catalog

Fruit Tree When ordering online or by catalog, it is important that you know whether or not it will grow in your area. A good flower garden supply company will disclose the zones that the flowers, plants, trees, or bushes grow well in. So, in most instances you only have to know your planting zone and the time to plant, along with the basics of flower gardening. Some plants, especially fruit trees and bushes, have some pollination requirements or require cross-pollination. When ordering such things, be sure to look for recommendations from the supplier concerning maximum production.

Before placing an order, review the terms and conditions of the website or catalog, and of course, make sure that they are legit company.

The main things that you want to make sure of are the return and cancellation policies. This will answers questions such as, “If a product is backordered can I cancel the order with a full refund, or am I limited to store credit?” or “What happens if I receive the supplies after planting season or if the products are damaged when I get them?” It is always best to cover your bases.
