I Love Growing My Tulips From Bulbs

I used to be scared of growing flowers from bulbs. It just seemed like it was a lot more work then putting an already grown plant in the ground. I was really nervous that I'd plant them, and I'd do something wrong and they wouldn't grow. However, my favorite flower in the world is tulips, which, of course, grow from bulbs! My desire to have tulips in my garden ultimately outweighed my fear of bulbs. I decided to take the plunge and try growing them.
I checked some books out from my library so that I would know what I was doing first. I learned that the best time to plant tulip bulbs was in the fall. This was pretty perfect timing, as summer was just getting close to ending at the time! I also read that getting big bulbs was important. With this information under my belt, I decided to go purchase my bulbs.
I was careful to choose bulbs in a wide variety of colors. I tried to imagine how they would all look together after my bulbs grew. It was a lot of fun planning out the perfect garden in my head! When the time was right, I planted my bulbs, and the waiting game began.
When it got close to spring, I was really nervous. I worried that I'd made some big mistake and that my tulips wouldn't grow after all. However, I had no reason to worry. Soon after that I had a gorgeous garden full of tulips. It was even prettier than I'd pictured it in my head. Now I can't imagine not growing tulips in my garden. I'm so glad that I took the plunge and tried growing flowers from bulbs.
