My Bluebird Garden

Bluebirds are my favorite kind of bird. I think their bright colors are amazing, and I love to hear them sing. It always makes me happy to see a bluebird since they're so strongly associated with happiness. I feel like they bring me good luck. I wanted to find a way to attract more bluebirds to my garden because of this. Surprisingly, it turned out to be much easier than I thought.

At first I thought that the only way I'd be able to get bluebirds to come to my yard was the put up a feeder and hope for the best. However, when I looked into it more I learned that there were many flowers I could plant in my garden that would attract bluebirds. These flowers included holly, juniper, and Virginia Creeper. I've also had particularly good luck with the dogwood I've planted.

I also wanted to come up with a unique way to attract more birds to my garden in general. Rather than go with the traditional birdbath, I decided to create a dust bath! My husband helped me to build one in the center of our yard. We chose some beautiful stone to go around it. The birds just love it! They seem to want to play in it all day.

Although I originally set out to just attract bluebirds, my bluebird garden is now full of all kinds of birds. I love being able to see them whenever I'm spending time outside. Although I have seen many beautiful birds in my yard, the bluebirds are still my favorite, and I still like to think that they bring me good luck.
