Basic Supplies for Planting Flowers
Before planting flowers you first have to decide where they will be planted. Basically there are three options and I will provide basic supplies for each:
-
Planting in a flower bed
-
Container gardening
-
Starting flowers from flower seed
In addition to the recommended supplies, it is also necessary to protect yourself when you are working outside with sunscreen, insect repellant, sunglasses and a hat. If you don’t want to look like a lobster, they are important things to have in your gardening kit.
Recommended supplies for a flower garden:
- Gardening gloves
- A spade
- A rake
- A shovel
- A hoe
- A water hose with a spray controller
- Soil additives
- Your chosen plants
- Stakes and string for staking tall plants or bushes
- A pocket knife for cutting hard-to-tear seedling containers

If I have left out anything out that would be useful to have on hand instead of running back and forth between your garden and the flower garden supply,
please share your suggestions.
