Snapdragons - Happiness!

by Jaclyn
(Dickinson, TX)

I love all kinds of flowers - all shapes, sizes, and colors. However, I do have a favorite annual flower. That favorite would be the Snapdragon.

I love all of the different kinds of this beautiful flower. I love the tall ones that can grow up to three feet tall, and I love the shorter ones. I love the red ones, the purple ones, the white ones, the yellow ones, the blue ones, and the orange ones. My favorite of all of these would be the shorter purple ones.

Snapdragons are my favorite because of the pure variety that they can come in. To me, they are just like people. They come in different shapes, sizes, and colors. They are so versatile. I also love the amazing smell that they have. It's such a light, airy smell. It's not an overpowering smell like some stronger flowers have. Because of their amazing aroma, they are a great flower to pick, and then bring inside for a flower arrangement. They are also such a uniquely shaped flower. They are definitely not a flower that one would forget, having seen it before. It has a quite exotic look that attracts me to them.

To grow them, there are a few tips that I wish I would have known before I started my garden. If you are starting a garden, I would recommend going to your local nursery to find the perfect time to plant them. I went on my own instinct and I wish that I would have waited a few weeks later.

Snapdragons will continue to be my favorite annual flowers for years to come.
