Tulips Are Nature’s Palette.

by Kathy
(Lancaster, PA, USA)

The tulip has a long history throughout Europe and Asia, fraught with intrigue and mystique. At one time they even created a bubble, much like our dot-com economic bubble, when people began speculating on the future worth of tulip bulbs. One look at their delicate beauty, their impossible colors, and it is easy to understand why. They are remarkably easy to grow, and with a little care, will come back every year in most any environment.

I have seen works by Monet and Picasso, but never have I seen a yellow so deep as the yellow in a tulip. I have seen nudes by DaVinci, but never curves so resplendent as the curve of the graceful bud of a tulip. A field of tulips in bloom looks like a paint explosion, and planting a small patch in your yard will instantly draw the eye towards them.

They can act as a focal point, or a way to draw attention away from a not-so-attractive feature. The blending of each color in a tulip flower is nothing sort of miraculous, the red and yellow or pink and orange nearly shimmer into each other, for an almost magical effect. Tulips are truly a wonder of nature, and when I look out of my window with a cup of tea, my heart is renewed by the sight of their beauty.
